Just found this great post over at Dans-Blog.com about getting inspired to do something and create something great.
"It goes without saying that inspiration and motivation go hand in hand. If you’re not in the mood to get that big project started, that web design completed or that marketing campaign running again then one of the few things that can kick start you back in to being motivated enough to carry on is inspiration."
It's difficult to get inspired sometimes, so different approaches are often required, like the book Rework for instance which teaches you to bin (sometimes literally!) all the rigid approaches and formalities of starting a business and to just react to what people want. Sometimes the customer can be the inspiration, or just wanting to make a great product.
"So what do I mean by a making your own source of inspiration? It’s not always possible to go swimming with dolphins, climb everest or watch the sunset on a beach – so we need the next best thing, things that remind us of our favourite inspirational things."
Dan has some great suggestions on how to inspire yourself, from his pin board, fun objects, interesting bookmarks, to just simply cool photographs.
Simple things can often be the most inspirational.
