After Lunch our schedule took our group to the boldly named GetSatisfaction www.GetSatisfaction.com and a meeting with the even more boldly named Thor Muller who is a co-founder and now CTO with this incredible organisation. Not since I was a child have I enjoyed a story so much –from nothing to multi million dollar company in the blink of an eye with more twists and turns than even the grandest of fairy tales. Thor explained in great detail the twist and turns that he and his other co-founders had enjoyed along the way. We learned about ‘pivoting’ twisting or changing the direction of a company either for positive or negative reasons –but essentially ‘pivoting’ is a distinct change in a company direction in an attempt to keep things on track. So what did we learn –well luck, luck, luck has a major role in even the best run technology start-ups. But when you work as hard as these guys do and you enter and even shape a totally new market segment –well it would be fair to say that you deserve all the luck in the world.
